About Us
Our Story – The Beginning of Chardiwari
Every story has a place where it begins.
Ours began within four walls - different homes, different cities, but the same feeling.
For each of us, the home was never just a structure. It was the smell of mitti after rain, the cool sip of water from a terracotta matka, the quiet comfort of chai in a handmade cup. We carried these memories with us, even as life grew faster, sleeker, and more modern.
One day, we found ourselves asking the same question: Why do our homes no longer hold the soul they once did? Why are the details that rooted us - ceramic bowls, terracotta diyas, handcrafted vases - slowly disappearing?
That question became a conversation.
The conversation became a dream.
And the dream became Chardiwari.
We chose the name because “chardiwari” - four walls - is where life truly unfolds. Within those walls, we laugh, we grieve, we celebrate, we grow. And what we place inside them - the objects, the art, the everyday things - shape the feeling of home.
Terracotta and ceramic became our language, because they are timeless. Clay, shaped by hand and fire, holds both fragility and strength. It is the oldest craft, yet always new. Every curve, every glaze, every imperfection carries a story - the artisan’s, the earth’s, and eventually, yours.
As founders, we come together with one shared belief:
A home should not be silent. It should speak.
Through pieces that are soulful, sustainable, and made with love.
Chardiwari is our ode to memory and meaning. A way of bringing back warmth into homes, of celebrating the artisans who keep traditions alive, and of giving modern spaces a touch of the timeless.
We invite you to step inside our chardiwari.
To let every wall become a canvas of who you are.
And to fill your home not just with things, but with stories.
